So you think you are the Fastest Finisher!!???

Prove your skills at Wacker Neuson’s 2010 Trowel Challenge

CRT on the job

In a time when other companies are cutting back or not exhibiting at tradeshows, Wacker Neuson is bucking the trend with its reenergized 2010 Trowel Challenge held during World of Concrete. Next year’s challenge features more prizes, more opportunities to win and the biggest grand prize given in Trowel Challenge history – a special edition CRT 48-35VX ride-on concrete trowel, powered by Vanguard.

For 2010, Wacker Neuson has partnered with Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power and World of Concrete to offer a number of free items. In addition to the grand prize won by the fastest finisher at World of Concrete, contractors can win a free World of Concrete airfare for two and hotel stay prize package, free admission to WOC exhibits and free promotional prizes donated by Wacker Neuson and Briggs & Stratton.

So…what is the Trowel Challenge? Trowel Challenge

The Trowel Challenge began as a simple contest between friends one year at World of Concrete. They used the demo concrete slab poured in Wacker Neuson’s outdoor booth and maneuvered a ride-on trowel through an obstacle course to see who was the fastest finisher.

The 2010 Trowel Challenge retains the same original concept but adds more course obstacles and an impact penalty meter to reward operator finesse, while pushing operator skills to the limit. While skill and finesse are required, speed is paramount. The fastest operator maneuver through the obstacle course will be crowned the fastest finisher, winning the customize CRT48-35VX trowel.

The 2010 Trowel Challenge is open to all contractor attendees at World of Concrete and will be broken into two sections: preliminary qualifiers and the finals. The top 10 qualifying times in the prelims will advance to the finals. Here’s the challenge schedule:

  • Preliminaries – Tuesday through Thursday afternoon, February 2-4, 2010
  • Finals – Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.

What makes the grand prize trowel so special?

Customized V-twin Vanguard Big Block™ engine

You can’t get this special edition trowel anywhere else. It’s been built by a joint venture between Briggs & Stratton Commercial Power and Wacker Neuson. It’s truly the trowel that sounds like and thinks it’s a Harley.

Briggs & Stratton’s engine application center built the trowel’s V-twin Vanguard Big Block™ engine especially for this grand prize. The engine features straight pipes, chrome accents and operates at an ear-shattering 125 dB(A). Don’t worry, sound-dampening baffles are being provided for the faint of heart.

The rest of the trowel is also tricked-out with chromed handles, spiders, blade guards, exhaust pipes and wiring. Best yet, it is fully operational and will prove to everyone on the jobsite that you are the fastest finisher in the world.

Trowel Tours the U.S.

Starting in November, 2009, and ending at World of Concrete in Las Vegas, this special edition CRT 48-35VX trowel will be touring the U.S., making stops at dealers and jobsites in select cities. A list of dealer and contractor special event locations, dates and times can be found right here on the blog.
